Application of MagTreat
MagTreat is used in the desulphurization of flue gas in compliance with IMO 2020. It is one of the most effective methods to remove sulfur from the coal in which it is contained in the form of organic sulfur or pyrites. This can be done before, during, and after combustion. In practice wet enrichment of coal before combustion can only remove a part of the pyrite though. Removing the sulfur from the flue gas after combustion is by far the most effective way to control the sulfur content. The efficiency of this method is up to 98% and is achieved by several commercially available technologies.
